More About The Wedding

I was asked by an anonymous commenter to give more details about Ronnie and Jessica's wedding. I normally don't post anonymous comments because I usually think they are trying to start trouble. But I thought they genuinely wanted to know more about the ceremony and I thought some of you might too. So I'll tell you what went on in the ceremony.

The wedding was beautiful as you can see from the pictures.

The ceremony started as all of them do with the lighting of the candles. Then each set of parents lit their candle to be used by Ronnie and Jessica to light the unity candle. While the parents were lighting their candles...Jessica's sister was singing a song entitled "The Parent's Prayer".

The bridesmaids walked down the aisle to the song "Cannon in D". Jessica's god-daddy then had prayer and spoke about Ronnie and Jessica coming to the wedding altar pure and that they kept themselves for one another. Then a good friend of Jessica's sang a song that she wrote.

After the exchanging of the vows they lit the unity candle while Jessica's cousins sang "From This Moment". Then it was Ronnie's daddy's turn to speak on courtship specifically. He spoke of why and how they courted. He then gave the plan of salvation and had prayer for Ronnie and Jessica. This part of the ceremony was very touching. My husband became emotional when speaking of Jessica and Ronnie going through the courtship and how they made it to the altar honoring God in it.

They then exchanged rings and were pronounced husband and wife and they were FINALLY allowed to kiss. This was the first kiss for both of them. It was a special adn very touching ceremony. God was honored and glorified in everything.

God brought these two together and enabled them to court for almost two years without touching or kissing or any contact at all. That certainly isn't popular or even common these days. Was it easy for them? I'm sure it wasn't at times. But they committed to God...their parents and themselves that they would do biblical courtship and God honored that commitment and sacrifice.

I'm excited to see what God has in store for them for the future. Lord-willing there will be children and lots of growing as a couple to do. Things will not always be easy for them...but they have God in their lives and in their home...so their chances are a lot better than most that they will make it through.

what a beautiful ceremony...
it had to be a very special time for your husband to be able to perform the marriage ceremony of his son and bride...
the young people both have committed this relationship to God so their chances are indeed very good that they will have a strong committed marriage...
I wish them well.

I am so happy for all of you . I know when my husband and I married it was my first kiss and I have never been sorry for waiting for the way God planned it to be.

It is the hard times that make the people in a marriage grow and trust God more so we know the hard times want hurt them only make them stronger. God bless. connie from Texas
