Psalm 34:1 "I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth."
You're probably wondering why I'm praising the Lord. Well...I'm praising Him because He is worthy of our praise. Do we have the answers to our trials that we are facing? No...not yet anyway. But I can tell you that God is sovereign and even when we don't understand....He knows best. He sees the big picture and He knows what is coming ahead for each of us.
You're probably wondering what brought this post on. Well....yesterday my husband, our two girls and myself went to a preacher's fellowship meeting. We heard some wonderful preaching and some spirit-filled singing. I truly got blessed by being there. However, after the afternoon part of the meeting was over and we broke for supper Michelle told me she was hurting and that she couldn't sit any longer. She said if it was okay that she wanted and needed to go home so she could relax and hopefully get some relief from it. I did not want to leave. My husband and Kristina wanted to stay so they chose to stay with Bro. Tim and his wife to attend the evening service. Michelle and I made the over an hour trip home to hopefully see her be able to lay down and get help with the pain. We came home and she ate some supper and as soon as she finished her meal she stood up and doubled over in extreme pain. The pain did not leave her after a few minutes and she was crying that it was really bad. So I called my husband and told him I was taking her to the hospital ER. Bro. Tim and his wife left to bring my husband and Kristina to the hospital to be with us. We got to the hospital and signed her in at 7:27 pm. We were there till 1:30 am and once again got no answers. They did a urinalysis and blood work and both came back normal. He pressed on her tummy and she was a bit tender but not in extreme pain. They gave her toradol for the pain that didn't touch it and had to resort to morphine and phenergan (for nausea) and that didn't even take the pain completely away.
He said it was not a surgical emergency and said to take her home and go ahead with the scheduling of an appointment with the GI specialist. I am in the process of trying to get that done. I tried to schedule one for her but no one will see her for at least 6-8 weeks. So I'm currently waiting on the referral nurse at Michelle's pediatric office to get her in sooner. She should be able to do that where I couldn't. We came home with a prescription for darvocet for pain that I know helps Michelle should she need to take it.
What I'm trying to say with this post is that although I was upset (as was Michelle) that we had to leave the preacher's fellowship meeting due to her pain....God knew what was going to take place once we got her home. Had we stayed for the supper and the evening service we would have had to take her to a hospital that we had no idea where it was nor were we familiar with it or their testimony of how well they take care of their patients. I praise the Lord for the warning He gave Michelle in her body of what was coming so that we could get home to go to the hospital we were familiar with.
We don't always understand what or why something is happening...but I'm still learning that we just need to trust Him. I don't know about you...but I'm still learning this thing of trusting the Lord. I so desperately wanted to be with my husband but I knew I needed to do what I needed to do with Michelle.
Thank you all for your continued prayers for Michelle and our family during this trying time with her health. We know that the Great Physician knows what is going on in her body. We are just waiting on Him and trying to be patient as He leads us to who He would have us to go to for the answers of what is going on and how to help her. She is in some pain today but nothing more than she has been. Please continue to pray for her and the rest of us. She expressed last night with tears streaming down her face that she is tired of hurting all the time. It is hard to see her like that but God has something for even her to learn through this. So I just try to encourage her to keep trusting the Lord for this time we're going through. She has been a real trooper through all of this though.
We love and appreciate all of you and your prayers too!!
