Malachi 3:10 "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse..."
No person is a "good Christian" who fails God in giving. Christianity is "giving". The Bible tells us "God loveth a cheerful giver." Church members who are sensitive about "giving" are usually out of the will of God. The faithful Christian is one who realizes that giving is a vital part of our Christian life. Jesus made the issue quite clear when He said that those who love Him would obey Him and keep His commandments. It is not so much what we profess...but what we practice...that determines our real devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you are not a tither...then may God give you the grace to start to do so. The word "tithe" means "tenth". As a principle of ownership, we learn from God's Word that the tithe is the Lord's. No Christian has given an offering unto the Lord who has not first given a tenth. Our offerings are those gifts which we bring to the Lord above our tithes. The tithe is God's plan for financing the work of His church and the carrying out of the Great Commission. It is a shame before God that a small minority in every church must bear the financial load. People have money for other areas such as charities and kids' activities and their own recreational activities but no money for the greatest cause on the face of God's earth. It is an insult to Jesus Christ to belong to His church and not be a tither.
If you are not faithful in this area of your Christian life may God give you the faith to begin to be. When you do you will see God bless you in ways you've never seen before.

I dont always leave a comment but I do check in here most days. I find the more friends I make online, the less time I have to visit, as it takes longer to make my rounds. I did want to check up on your daughter tho. I do pray she is doing better. Sorry, no definitive answer, it is hard to see our kids hurting isn't it. And I didn't mind your "Venting" at all. Reminded me a little of myself! LOL
Sis. Julie, good post. I have been concerned about you and your family and I continue to pray. My heart feels for you. connie from Texas
I can testify to times when my hubby and I didn't tithe. It seems we just couldn't get aheaad during those days of rebellion. We both knew better! However, just the opposite is to be said now that we tithe faithfully. It seems now since our priorities are in God's order, many blessing come our way to surprise us and bless us.
Thanks for the great thoughts and encouragement here Julie.
Amdocs is blackmailing America's "leaders." That's why they seem to be making such insane decisions: http://deanberryministries.blogspot.com
Sis Julie,
This is a good post. Unfortunately tithing is a touchey subject for a lot of christians sad to say. I know when my husband and i got saved we were not giving what we should have and we did struggle to get by until we heard some good preaching on tithing and the Lord really convicted us about this. When we got this right we found that the Lord began to bless us more and our needs were taken care of.
I hope everything works out at the doctors.
Sis, Julie, I am still praying and also that the Lord will show the doctors what the Problems are and strength for you and your family. Love you, Sis. connie from Texas
