We Need To Trust The Lord

Psalm 62:8 "Trust in him at all times, ye people, pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah."

God wants us to trust Him in what He can and will do for us.

All through God's Word we are told to trust Him. As many times as we're told in His Word to do just that you'd think people would know how important it is to trust Him.

To trust means to put one's confidence in, faith, expect.

We trust so many things in life:
Our employers: That we'll get a paycheck on payday for the work we've done.
Material things: That the chair you're sitting on right now will hold you up without falling to the ground and that the car you drive will start up when you go out to leave for work or anywhere else you might be going.

Why is it so hard for us to trust God to provide for us or to save our loved ones?

As a newborn Christian I began trusting God right away. I claimed my first word of Scripture (Psalm 27:14) and trusted God that He would take care of my children and me when my husband called me and told me he wanted a divorce. God held true to that promise. He not only took care of us but he brought my husband back home to us and a short time later he got saved. He has continued to prove time and time again that I can trust Him for the promises that He has given.

Is my faith what it should be? Not hardly. We get tired and discouraged and begin to stray from our trusting in God because it's taking so long to see results. But when I doubt God in any way. He always takes me back in my mind to those times that He has done as He promised He would. Then my faith is strengthened.

We should trust Him for His provision. He tells us in Philippians 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus". We should trust Him for the salvation of our loved ones. Isaiah 59:1 "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save...". I have trusted in the Lord for the salvation of my family for over 10 years now and recently my sister got saved and then my nephew got saved. I'm still trusting Him for the salvation of my parents and my brother. He is not willing that any of the die and go to hell. I have lost faith in His promises concerning His saving them before because I just didn't think it would ever happen. But Isaiah 59:1 is a promise that I can claim...no matter how hard hearted or cold a person gets to the gospel...there is still hope as long as they h ave breath in their body.

It is very rewarding and statisfying to trust Him. Afterall, He trusts us, as His children, to live for Him and we all fail Him. But you can be sure of one thing...HE NEVER FAILS US!!!

I saw God work through me today and it was amazing! I forget, so often, how to really listen to Him. His way is so much better than mine!

Your testimony is dramatic. Your husband asked you for a divorce? I'm so sorry you had to suffer through that. Praise God that the Lord brought him home and he later was SAVED! Now, of course he's a pastor. Sis. Julie, you are one faithful, trusting lady. I love the family photo you've posted on your "about me" page. You all seem so joyful. What a miraculous work God has done in you and through you!!!

I have really great, amazing and wonderful Christian friends.... And each time I think that my life is on a downward slope, they are very quick to remind me that I need to put all my faith and trust in God. And as many times as I hear that, I still tend to trust everyone other than Him. I am stubborn, I do admit. I have this montage of things that remind me on a daily basis hanging on my wall in my office, different scripture that gets me by. Being "new" at this whole Christian thing, I can only do my best and in time, my heart will be transformed. And then and only then will He give my the things my heart desires.....

VERY IMPORTANT!

Are you a good person? Take this test and find out.
