The Life That Glorifies God

I Corinthians 6:19-20 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price : therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

Is Jesus pleased with your life? Have you given Him your WHOLE life? When we give ourselves to God completely then God will get everything and you'll have no problem giving all to Him and for Him.

(vss. 9-11) "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." It is necessary to be saved in order to glorify God. If a person is not saved they are at enmity with God. A person who is an enemy of God cannot glorify Him at all. James 4:4 "....know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."

(vss. 12-18) "All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body."
To glorify God we need to live a separated life. Anything that controls us more than God...we need to get out from under it. A life controlled by God is free. It is not popular to live a separated life. We should live a separated life in how we dress....the places we go to....the music we listen to....the people we hang around with....the programs we watch on tv....how we project ourselves in our attitude....etc. II Corinthians 3:2 "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:" Only God can see our hearts...but man looks on the outward appearance and how we present ourselves in the things we say and/or do. We need to be mindful if we say we are a child of God that our lives portray that truth. If there is anything in your life that says otherwise....we should examine ourselves and see if we are of God. A way to know if what you do or say glorifies God is to ask yourself "Would Jesus be doing this or saying this?" Or "Would I be ashamed if Jesus were here with me?" Afterall....our bodies are the temple of God and He lives within us....so He is there with you...right?

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." To glorify God we also need to live a Spirit-filled life. This is a command of God. It is not impossible as some may think. When God commands something....He will equip us with what it takes to do it. Afterall....it is the will of God!!!

I pray this post helps you all as it helped me. So often we forget what God expects of us on a daily basis. These things are not some things that are to be a sporadic or once-in-a-while thing. They are to be part of our daily lives.

This is a great post, Julie. Satan has deceived so many people that believe they are saved and are living godly lives. When the truth of it is that everything they have done in the name of Christ has been for naught. Not that Christ does not use the unsaved, but you know what I mean.

And one of the last things you said, "When God commands something....He will equip us with what it takes to do it. Afterall....it is the will of God!!!" is soooooooo true!
