"Many youth today are reaching out for thrills and kicks, only to clutch the spider's web of sin and plunge in their ruin."
How many of us know young people who are doing just what that quote says? I know several. In fact...I'm sure we can all say that we know at least one young person who is indulging in sinful activity or activity that is not pleasing to God and are headed for destruction. They don't see that they are....but they are. The devil is a sly being who works subtly in people's lives. He has a plan to accomplish and he won't stop until he accomplishes that goal. The only one that can keep him from accomplishing that goal is the individual that he is working on.
We have the privilege and opportunity to pray for each young person we know that they would not give in to the wiles of the devil. God desires to use each one to further His plan to reach others with the gospel of Christ. We as parents need to be praying and seeking God in His Word for how to train up our children so as not to give the devil ammunition to use against us and our children. He has enough ammunition on his own without help from us parents. My desire for each of my children is that my children walk in the truth of God's Word and live according to His ways.
What is your desire for your children and/or the young people that you know in your life?
3 John 1:4 "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."

Julie,
This couldn't more timely. Bro. Craig and I have a older teen in our life that is headed straight to destruction. He was in state custody when we met him. We truely believe God saved him after teen camp. However, he is back with his family now and far far away from God's will. He called yesterday his (lost) dad is at death's door because the life of drugs has finally taken its toll. We know God is trying to send a wake up and it breaks our hearts to have to watch but praying that it won't take much more.
Sis. Wendy....I'm so sorry to hear this. God will not leave him alone if he belongs to Him. Just keep praying and trust the Lord to do what is needful to bring him back. We cannot give up on these young people. If we aren't praying we have no guarantee that anyone is. I pray the Lord gives y'all strength as you watch him go through these difficult times he is going through. Love you!!
Hey Julie! Good to see you!
Our youth face so many obstacles. They need more prayer and love than ever. My heart breaks every time I see them headed towards disaster.
God bless
This is so true, I been in that situation, where I didn't realise I was headed for destruction and once you head down that path it is so hard to get back on the right track and follow God, but it can be done with God's help.
I think what helps the most is other christians being there to support you and help you once you turn back to God and repent, as many seem to judge the mistakes teens make and that sends them straight back down the road of destruction as it feels they no longer belong in the christian community....
Anyway great post :)

Hi Julie,
I am just going around and wishing all my blog Moms HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU ALL! I pray you have a wonderful day!

Ah...so painful to read this. My husband and I are in the throes of losing out oldest daughter (and maybe second too) to the world. It is breaking her mom and dad's heart. We had such hopes for her...a good IFB college, and a good IFB KJV man...maybe even a pastor? Missionary? But she has been enticed by the world, and we are just "weird and silly". It is heartbreaking. Sounds like you know what we are going through. I spent most of March and April in tears. But God gives us free will...and I have turned her into His loving and merciful hands...and try not to pluck her out again! :) It is hard not to grab those worries back as soon as I let them go to the Saviour's care.
