James 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."
God is a giver of gifts. Three will be mentioned here. These are spiritually related.
We have been given the perfect gift...the gift of His Son. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God loved us so much that He gave us His best. When Jesus died...He died for all. When He died it atoned for every human being. Not everyone is saved...but He still died for them. He did this so we would not need to suffer the eternal penalty for sin.
Jesus is the power of the church. He is also the purpose of the church. We are to love what He loves and hate what He hates. We are to obey His Word. We are to be warriors for Him. We are to have a voice for Him to proclaim His truth. Fewer and fewer Christians are speaking out and taking a stand on issues. Preachers used to preach on things that now they are guilty of themselves.
We have the perfect gift of salvation. With that gift came new desires. God wants us to serve faithfully and be in fellowship with Him. To serve Him faithfully we need to trust Him and believe Him.
He gave us the perfect gift of the Holy Spirit. We need to reflect His character. He invested in us and He expects a return on that investment. He wants us to be busy warning others of their eternal destination without Him. He gave us the Holy Spirit for the mainstay of His presence. In His presence we have joy. There is power in joy!!
In God...and God alone...we have all of His presence...His glory...and His power.

It is wonderful to know that we have the power of God within us...
Sis. Mimi....Yes it is!!
I wish I could know exactly what I could be if I would use all that God has given to me by His Son. I am afraid we use only a very small amount of the power He has given to us. What a loss. Thank you, Sis. Julie. connie
Sis. Connie...I agree with you. We need to know what God has given us and use it. There is no telling what we could accomplish for Him if we would do that.
Mrs Julie thank God for his perfect gifts. I am so thankful for the gifts he gives us, but mostly thank God for the perfect gift of his Son Jesus which took away my sin and now we never have to go to Hell praise God for that. Great Post Mrs Julie thanks for the reminder.
