Matthew 28:19-20 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end fo the world. Amen."
In verse 17 we see that when the disciples saw Jesus they worshipped Him. "And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted." How is your worship? What is your reason for going to church...reading your Bible...praying...witnessing and serving Him? Do you do these things out of duty and obligation? Our reason should be to worship Him.
Verses 18-20 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." There is no greater authority than has been given us by Jesus. We are serving a risen Savior. The resurrection is the hub of the gospel. Without the resurrection then our hope would be in vain. In these verses we find there is activity. God has a plan and He's not going to change it. There is a problem in our churches today and that problem is that they have about lost their burden for evangelism. God commands us to "go" and we need to do just that. If we do not evangelize and tell others about Christ then we are failures. God has given us direct orders from God to do just that.
In verse 19 we are told to "go" and we need to obey Him. We are only to go and tell others and teach them and leave the rest up to God.
There are more and more today who don't preach repentance. Those who do not preach repentance are only preaching part of the gospel. There must be repentance in salvation. Luke 13:3 & 5 "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." Repentance is a change of heart in the direction you are going to live your life. Only God can give true repentance and make it possible. A lot of people are "trying" to change on their own and it doesn't last. When God changes us then a real change takes place and we become a new creature. II Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
There is also less weeping over lost souls. We need to ask God to give us back our tears and burden for lost souls. People are worshipping Mary...Buddha...creation...Satan and everything you can imagine but the One they should be worshipping. Those people need a personal encounter and relationship with Jesus. They need to put their allegiance in Him. When a person gets truly born-again he/she will be changed and will have not trouble trusting Him and serving Him and worshipping Him.
It's time to get a burden and "go".
