Are You A Christian?

Romans 12:1-2 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

I'm not asking if you're saved. I hope and pray you are but my burden for this post is for those of you who are saved. Many people are saved but not all saved people are Christians. The word Christian means Christ-like.

A Christian is identified with Christ. A person who is saved but not living as Christ would (or as close to it as humanly possible) is not living a Christian (Christ-like) life. You might ask why would God expect us to live such a life? Why wouldn't He? He only gave His only Son as a sacrifice for our sins. And His Son was only willing to die for us. I think it is the least we can do...it is our "reasonable service".

Tell me...what has He done for you that gives you the idea that you should live a Christian life? He's done more for me than I could even begin to explain. I just know that I don't want to have a testimony of just being saved. I owe my Lord more than that. I want the testimony of being a Christian!! I feel the one that has that kind of testimony is honoring the Lord and is living a life of worship in their service to and for Him. You might not know it...but our service for Him is a form of worship. Examine yourself and see if you are living that Christian life. If not....you need to ask forgiveness of Him and get started doing so today!!

Whew! Amen, sista! I think some people tend to skip over the whole "reasonable service" part of being a Christian. Good post.

OUCH!!! Good one! Pastor was in Hebrews 6 last night and the one statement I walked away with that stuck with me today was:

"If you haven't done one thing for Christ today, then you've wasted your day!"

That's a great challenge. Christ definitely deserves for us to do more than just be saved. He deserves to have us live our lives for Him and like Him!

Always room for improvement in my life that is for sure. Sometimes I close my ear to the Lord's nudging on things.
I don't want to be a carnal Christian.
