Is It The Judgment Of God?

Isaiah 1:4 "Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward."

I couldn't help but think about this verse in relation to our nation. It saddens my heart each and every day as I hear of new things that are being done to take us further away from God than we already are. Prayer was taken out of our schools...abortion was legalized and now we are seeing sodomy become more accepted and promoted in our present day society. Does any of this glorify God? Of course not. And what is all this doing to our nation? It is bringing the judgment of God on our nation. If you don't think the Oklahoma City bombings and the twin tower bombings and now all that is taking place in the weather are not the judgment of God then I don't know where you have been living. I know that you can say that men are involved in the bombings and now we are hearing reports that man is even responsible for what is taking place in some of the weather patterns and such. But I tell you right here and right now that God is allowing these things to bring judgment on our nation.

We have storm system after storm system that is coming across our nation on almost a daily basis lately. Now I don't know if it is being said that they are saying man has had anything to do with those...but I know that when Katrina came through that is was said to have been blamed on man...at least some of it. I don't know about all that but I know if man has had some part in any of it....God has allowed it!!

God is judging our nation because we have turned our backs on Him and His Word. This country was founded on His Word. The longer we continue to live here on this earth the worse it is going to get as our nation turns further and further from Him. I also know that the longer we live on this earth the closer we are getting to that glorious day when we who know Him will hear that trumpet and that shout calling us to "Come up hither". I don't know about you but I can't wait and I'm listening every day for that sound from Heaven.

Have a blessed day!! Don't forget to pray for this great nation we live in. We're still free to worship Him and possess the Word of God. Begin to hide it in your heart if you haven't already because one day that could be taken from us too.

What a great post. People certainly don't recognize God's handiwork in our nation. It seems that we have replaced God's place with man. We no longer recognize God's hand in strong weather phenomenon but we blame it on man. Your post is right on target.

mrs. b....I did try to click on the widgets first and it didn't help. I'll just have to deal with it till they get it fixed I guess. Thanks for the tip though.

bro. nick...you are right!! And it is happening more and more saying it is man that is doing whatever when it is God's sovereign hand of judgment. Oh well...I can only pray that man's spiritual blinders be removed so he can see what is REALLY going on!

You're right on, Sis! God's people need to quit playing and start praying!!! But I also believe it is a sign of the times. God is coming back soon.

sis. kristi....Yes it is a sign of the times. And it gets me rather excited when I think about it that way!!

it is indeed the signs of the times... and we need to be ready when he comes...we take it for granted that we will always have the freedoms to worship and read the scripture, because we are a "Christian Nation",but we are no longer living like a Christian Nation, so that freedom.can be taken away from us...
great post Sis Julie... one to make us think and prepare ourselves..

sis. mimi...thank you!! We do take it for granted...and we need to realize that there is a real good chance that our freedoms will continue to be taken from us little by little.

Amen Julie!
There needs to be a revival! We need to wake up and realize what is going on around us. God has a plan, we know this, and certain things have to happen for it to work out for His good....the world is dying around us and so are a lot of folks that are on the path of unrighteouness that need to hear the gospel. There was a dear lady that lived across the street from us, a really nice lady. She was 41 years old. I had not seen her for a few weeks and then last week I found out she was diognosed with a rare liver cancer, 4 weeks ago...1 weeks later she died. Julie, it bothers me so much that I did not take the time to share the gospel with her. 41 years old...God please forgive me... I did not take the time, it just confirmed that we do not know when our days are to come to end..it is all in his timing. Today is the day to share the Good News with all that will listen.

bro. chris...you are so right. That is all we can do....that and PRAY!

Sis. Julie said...

sis. christina...I'm so sorry to hear that about your neighbor. I think we all can tell of stories when we should have shared the gospel with someone and didn't for one reason or another. And that opportunity is an opportunity missed. All we can do is do like you did and ask for forgiveness and go on and do our best to not let it happen again.

Amen! So very true!!!! Waiting to hear that "Come up hither!"

Why would a loving God be so vindictive?

And who has forced you to hide anything? Look at cable television. Do a search for "bible" or "religion" or "God" and you get thousands of shows within a two week period.

That's just an example.

I am amazed at how many christians claim persecution and that they aren't "allowed" to profess their beliefs. I've never had any other group knock on my door multiple times or leave pamphlets in the bathroom at my place of employment or on my car windshield as christians have.

I don't believe in a God of violence, retribution or anger. My God is a god of love and peace, charity and forgiveness.

anonymous...I don't normally post a anonymous comments because it appears they are too ashamed of their comment to post a name with it. But I will respond to this one.

You must not read the Bible. If you did then you would read MANY accounts where God put forth His wrath and His judgment for sin. God is the author of peace...He is love and He is very forgiving. But He is also a God of judgment. And His judgment and wrath will be put forth during the Tribulation period like never before. Read Revelation chapter 4 through the end of the chapter.

I don't use my name because in the past it has been used against me. By christians who profess love but will go to no ends to draw me out and attempt to embarrass me.

You're right about one thing though. I don't read the bible. I've read it enough in my life to make that decision. Again, I believe in a god of love and peace, not of wrath and vengeance. I don't believe for a second that any god would bring destruction to millions of people for the so called sins of a few. I don't believe a god would bring wrath upon an entire nation because he disagrees with the action of some of its citizens.

That makes no sense to me whatsoever.

anonymous...I'm so sorry to hear that you don't read the Bible. You obviously don't believe in the God you speak of. If you did you would be reading His Word to learn more about Him and then you would find what I have said is true. I'm afraid to tell you that if you don't get born-again you will one day know and remember what has been said to you about this as you experience His wrath and His vengeance. I really hope you come to know Him so you don't have to. You will be in my prayers (whatever your name is).

First of all great post Julie! Amen Sister! I am so sad by the state of our once great nation. Everyday there is something else and everyday seems to get worse and the horrible thing is it isn't going to get better. The good news is exactly what you pointed out - the fate of this nation is leading us to that glorious day we get to go home and be with HIM!!! I for one can't wait.

I feel really bad for people like annonymous. So blind.

sis. tiffany....I feel badly for anonymous too!! I pray they find Christ!!

Mrs Julie good post. I know get tired of everyone just taking about a God of love when you read the old testament this same GOd wiped out nations. The Lord help the church get right or multitudes will continue to go to Hell.

“…if you don't get born-again you will one day know and remember what has been said to you about this as you experience His wrath and His vengeance.”

It is difficult for me to understand how your god could show wrath and revenge toward his own creations, yet be praised for his benevolence.

VERY IMPORTANT!

Are you a good person? Take this test and find out.
