Matthew 28:19-20 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
We went to a preacher friend of ours church Sunday morning where my husband was asked to preach to kick off their month of missions emphasis.
My husband preached this and it blessed my heart. I pray it will yours too and compel you to obey God's command and "go ye therefore". God may not have called you to missions but I'm here to tell you that every time you walk out the doors of your church you are entering the mission field. Yes...even here in the great nation of the USA.
People are dying and going to Hell every day and God commands us to tell them there is a way to escape that awful place.
We should go because God commands it but also because.....
--> Heaven is a real place. It is a prepared place. It's a place that our Lord is preparing just for us. It is reserved only for those who have repented and trusted Christ for salvation. Scripture tells us of a beautiful place. A place of a street of gold and gates of pearl. It's a place where there is no sorrow and no tears and no dying. There's no pain. There is only joy and peace and most importantly our Saviour is there.
--> Hell is a real place. There are many religious people in Hell today. Many who sit on a church pew and trusted in their church membership or their baptism or their good moral life to get them there. There are those who sang in the choir and...as hard as it may be to believe...I'm sure there are even preachers there who never truly trusted Christ.
--> We have a hope that is real. Jesus is coming soon!! He is our hope....our Blessed Hope. Others need to know of that hope. There are many people living in this world that have no hope. They need to know that they can have hope. But they need to have an opportunity to know that hope.
We need to go out so others will have the same opportunity that we've had. God has not given us a time to quit warning people of their eternal destination. He only says "go ye therefore".

Julie,
thanks for this post to remind us that we should be going therefore every day and witnessing to those we come in contact with...that there is a Heaven...there is a Hell... and our hope is real..
we have a responsibility to tell others
Great outline. Have you heard the song "I Have A Hope" ??
"I have a hope, its not just emotion. I have a hope. That's steadfast and sure!"
That's all I can remember at the moment!
sis. mimi....I know I need that reminder myself as well. I think we all do.
sis. pam...Know I don't know that song. It sounds like it is a good one though.
Sis. Julie,
You are so right. One of our biggest problems is that we don't really believe in those three things. I think that if we truly believe something, we will act on it. If we really believe in the three things then we would be out doing the work more.
bro. nicholas....Amen!! You're right!!
Also, Sis. Julie, I just noticed this so I'm gonna pick on your. In your comment to Pam you said, "Know I don't know that song." Do you think that first 'know' should be 'no.'
P.S. Please don't stone me!
sis. pam...it has been brought to my attention that I'm not perfect...LOL!! I meant "No" not "Know" in my comment.
Thank you Bro. Nicholas for bringing that to my attention. The perfectionist I am should have noticed that...but I missed that one. Sorry for the mistake.
......sorry......
bro. nicholas....no problem!!
Amen! Thank you for sharing your outline and for the reminder that as Christians we need to be sharing and telling others of the hope we have in Jesus.
Blessings!
sis. mishel....I wish y'all could have heard it preached...it was really good and God really used it.
MRs Julie sounds like a great message. With the way things are playing out in our world right now we need to have a urgency to get the gospel out.
Bro Tim
bro. tim...you are right!
Excellant post....that is sure what it is about..

Sounds like a good message. Last year, at the Mission I preached messages two days running, one on Hell, and the other on Heaven (ie. what each was like, how to avoid Hell, and how to have the assurance of going to Heaven). It is funny - people paid close attention to the message on Hell, but seemed to tune out the message on Heaven. I think they take it for granted, heard so much about it that they don't care anymore. But the message on Hell got their attention - because now they were faced with its reality from God's Word, and they wanted to know what He says about not going there.
Of course, that is the reaction of the lost to those places - but we (believers) should keep the reality of both places before our minds. I like your third point - because salvation is more than escaping Hell and going to Heaven - it is about the eternal hope we have in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Bro. Jerry...You are so right!! And it is sad that so many take Heaven for granted. I don't ever want to be guilty of that.
