Oh Me...One More Day!!

It is now 1:30am on Friday morning. Wow!! The wedding is tomorrow!! My girls and I were at the church helping Jessica's momma and the wedding coordinator (Sis. Sharon) decorate for the wedding. It took us 4 hours to get accomplished what LITTLE bit we did. But things are already looking so pretty. Sis. Sharon said she is going to be decorating all day tomorrow and even some on Saturday morning. So if things look as pretty as they do now I can only imagine how beautiful everything will look when it is done. I am soooooo excited for Ronnie and Jessica. It seems I should be more upset about my "baby" getting married and leaving home....but I guess when it is God's will....there is peace in it and about it. I am so ready for them to begin their new lives together. I know they are!!

I'm sure that tomorrow (I can't believe it is tomorrow!!!) I'll be a basket case and one big bundle of emotions. Jessica's mom said in kidding "Anyone who cries during the wedding is grounded (on restriction) till they die!!". I told her "Then I guess you'll have to ground me then cause I AM gonna cry". You watch...she'll be the one to cry worse than anyone...LOL!!

Today was spent doing all of Ronnie's laundry (for the last time) and cleaning his room up real good and packing the little bit of stuff he had left in his room. I began helping him pack his suitcase for their honeymoon too. Then this evening I went and got all the groceries I needed to prepare the rehearsal dinner. We'll be having (per Ronnie's request) goulash, salad, dinner rolls, and banana cream pie bars. We'll be having soda to drink with our meal. This is a meal that will be easy to prepare and fairly inexpensive for feeding 40 people which is the number I was given to expect.

So the week is winding down now and God has been so gracious and good to each of us in all of the preparation. He has even seen fit to work in the weather forecast. Earlier in the week it was forecast to rain on Saturday here and also rain and freezing rain in Gatlinburg, TN where they are going for their honeymoon. But after much prayer and checking the forecast today....it is now forecast to be mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain here and morning clouds with clearing to partly cloudy in the afternoon and evening in Gatlinburg. Praise the Lord!! God is soooooo wonderful to hear and answer our prayers how we want things to be.

Thank you so much for all the comments that have been left letting me know that you are praying. They have been a real encouragement to me and I've passed each one on to Ronnie and told Jessica how everyone is praying for them and us. They really appreciate it!! I will be posting on Monday (Lord-willing) some pictures that will be taken by my sister-in-law....if they turn out. With not being able to use flash it may not work...but we are sure going to try!! So come back Monday and see!

Have a great weekend!!

Julie....
Oh I am sharing your JOY and the tears of change...
.....believe me as the years go on....you will miss your empty nest...BUT the years of just husband and wife after the children are so WONDERFUL...we are loving them...and only in our early 50's.....
If you wear mascara...wear WATERPROOF....a big recommend from me...
I was *mother of the_____*...for all of our 3 children ....within less than 18 months....
Look up the song:
"Because HE LIVES"
I think it is the 2nd verse that says...how sweet to hold a new born baby......I think it so applies to these type of situations.....
Wish I could be there ,,,just to be there....(not as a wedding crasher)....to just really share this wonderful sweet occasion...
I will be there in prayer for you and yours..

It seems like just yesterday I came across you and Jessica's blogs. I remember the first thing that really interested me was their courtship story. It facinated me because to me. You and Jessica as well as a few others have opened my eyes and heart to things I didn't know abotu before and for that I thank you. I have been following their story the whole time and I feel like I'm there with you all experiencing all the excitment! God bless you all. I know tomorrow will be wonderful! And don't worry about losing your "baby". Just think "grandchildren"!!!

This is such a sweet time for everyone..but in varying ways. Sure the ultimate joy is seeing two young people come together in matrimony under the covering of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is truly wondrous! But other sweetnesses include the Lord working in individual hearts in individual ways, all with the result of drawing ever closer to Him. He's such a wonderful Savior and knows your thoughts and heart, intimately. Relish in His mercies and presence, dear lady.

I'm praying <><
