I Think They Are A "Little" Anxious

LOL!! I posted last week that my son Ronnie and his fiance' had set a date. Well...they have set another one.

The ladies of our weight-loss group were having our meeting Sunday afternoon and got to talking about the wedding. In teasing and fun it was brought up that they should just get married this weekend. Well...Ronnie and Jessica had just come out of their meeting with my husband and heard us joking about it.

Little did we know they would take what was said in fun to heart. Next thing I know Jessica was calling Ronnie after talking to her parents to see if his parents would go along with it. My husband and I were comfortable with it if they and her parents were. The new date is not this weekend though. We have a little more time than that. Their new date is January 26th. Yes...of this year!! That is 18 days from today!!

I know you are probably reading this and thinking "Wow...that's soon!!" Can you blame them? They have been courting for almost two years without any physical contact at all. They have not held hands. They have not kissed. They have not touched at all. The first time will be at the wedding altar. Imagine if you were in their shoes....you'd want to get married as soon as possible too...wouldn't you? I know I would!!

Their house is furnished...unpacked and ready for them to begin living in. They are very anxious to be husband and wife. Who can blame them?

PLEASE pray for all of us as we do the whirlwind planning and get everything ready for the BIG day. Please pray especially for Jessica and her momma. They have more to do on their end than we do on our end. God is bringing everything together so far and we look forward to continuing to see Him work in helping things be finalized and brought together.

MRs Julie when I heard they changed the date I was like that is crazy I just done wedding and it took several weeks to put together, but then knowing that they courted and have not touch each other since courting which to me is a great testimony that very few can say that the first time they touch was at the altar I would say I don't blame them one bit. My prayers our with Jessica and Mrs Karen as they will be in a whirlwind, and my prayers our with Ronnie and Jessica I am excited that everything has worked out as fast as it has. I really pray that we will be able to make it to the wedding hopefully nothing will come up at the church. Prayers to you all too because I seen this can be a stressful time on everyone, even though joyous everyone wants everything to turn out just right on Jan 26.

Sis Julie -
I have been keeping up with Jessica's blog and my brain is reeling, so I can only imagine what you all are going through! LOL! I know how excited you all must be!
I am so happy God worked it all out so they will be able to have a reception as well. It will be so many happy memories for them.
Have been praying for you all and will continue. The biggest blessing is what a wonderful testimony they have been and are in so many ways. I wish I could be there at the wedding and I haven't even met you all personally - LOL! - but I feel like I have. Will be looking forward to all the pictures!
Love and prayers,
PamelaK

I am praying for the young people as they prepare for their lives together... I know the wedding can be lots of pressure... but it is the marriage that is long lasting... so whatever happens as they rush to make the wedding happen... as long as they have them, God, and the preacher, everything and everyone else is just extra frosting...
congratulations on becoming a new mother in law in only 18 days...
my prayers are with both families as you work out the details.
Love,
Mimi

sis. mimi....I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes just thinking of how God is working in everything. I was concerned about the date being moved up that they were rushing it too much...But God is providing and working everything out. I know....O ye of little faith!! That's me!! But He is so wonderful!!

Thank you for your prayers!

"Imagine if you were in their shoes" I love that statement! Yall just don't know. LOL!!!!!! :) It was worth it though, waiting on the Lord is always worth it.

I'm also glad that the Lord is working everything out, it seems that everything is falling into place. Praise the Lord!! :)

Wow! In a way it seems to be moving too fast, but it's not like they haven't been preparing for this "event" for a while! As someone else mentioned, the amount of time spent preparing a wedding isn't nearly as important as the time spent preparing for the marriage -- and without knowing any of you, it sounds as though that preparation has been well-laid. I'll be thinking of all of you -- we're getting a Jessica-jewel in our family next Saturday (the 19th). I think Andrew and Jessica have held hands, but they have not kissed -- their first kiss will be at the altar. It's exciting watching the Lord move in the lives of our young people, isn't it?! Watching them grow in His love and in obedience to Him. Such a blessing.

sis. juanita....Amen!! Thank you for stopping over here. I know I haven't been doing much with my Xanga lately. I have found it hard to keep up with it. But I'm trying. What a blessing that you are going to have an addition to your family on the 19th!! It is definitely a blessing to watch God work in our young people's lives. And to see them keep themselves pure with the help of the Lord is even more of a blessing. Thank you for coming by here and leaving a comment.

Sis. Julie, I am so excited for all of you and especially for Jessica and Ronnie. This is a very special time for you all. May God bless every step of the way. Time is so short. I sure don't blame them at all. The planning is important but the living is more important. I am so happy for you. love and thank you much. connie from Texas

((Sis. Julie)) ~ I've not been online much since the New Year [just too many responsibilities that God gives greater priority :o)]. I did see where the wedding was set for March but missed this update post. I was talking with my Mom yesterday, and she told me the wedding had been moved up.

Please know that Ronnie and Jessica are on my prayer list along with both sets of parents. May the Lord grant you all extra strength and stamina as you get the details prepared and may your hearts overflow with joy as you celebrate the wedding.

Many hugs my dear sister-in-Christ and congratulations to all ~
