Things Don't Always Stay The Same

Proverbs 3:6 "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Things do change. God's will isn't always for things to stay the same. That is hard to deal with sometimes. But I know one thing. When we stay focused on Him and pray for His will and are willing to follow His will when He shows us what that is....then He will direct our paths and He will give us the peace and the strength to make those changes. We must stay focused on Him through that change though. Sometimes change can be so overwhelming that it can cause our focus to be diverted from Him to the things that take place during that change.

God's promises are true. He has always been faithful and He will never cease to be faithful. We must let the Holy Spirit have full control in our lives at all times. That includes those times when things are being re-routed in our lives. If we don't let Him have full control then we will not respond correctly to that change. I have been like this. I have let things in my life...changes that take place in my life....to affect how I deal with that change. I have taken it out on my children and my husband. Is that how God desires for things to be....ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! When God changes the direction of a family.....we as wives and also our children should just trust the Lord and trust the head of our homes to make the right choices and love him through it. The thing to remember is that change affects the ENTIRE family. Not just one member.

So when God re-routes your life and the life of your family....trust the Lord and let Him have His way. Don't let that change fog up your focus or even block it from the One Who you desire to guide you and lead you. Remember....God makes NO mistakes!!

Good lesson Sis. Julie. I know when things started to change when Drew took me from a pretty much Southern Baptist Church to an Independent Baptist Church I felt so torn. I didn't agree with a lot of things that Independent Baptists stood for. I thought I was just fine the way I was. I wasn't willing to follow my husband is what it really came to and it was a major strain on our marriage several different times. The Lord is good and gracious and merciful and so much more and HE has so blessed our home! I don't know why but it is like Drew has to explain to me things 5 different times sometimes before I'll actually believe it for myself. WE as women are truly the weaker vessel.

I love you too!

Love,
Lula

MRs Julie what a great post. We sometimes don't understand why God decides to put changes in our life, but I do know that he is in control and that it is for our good. I have a couple of times that God has changed my path so I know the apprehension sometimes in following his will. Good post! Prayers.

this is such a great lesson for me.. I don't do well with change...
I think I have to control every situation, and I need to step back and go with the flow.. and accept change better as it comes..
thank you for this life's lesson to me Julie...

sis. mimi...I too have thought that I have to control the situations in my life at times. We just need to realize that when we try to control that change that we only hinder what God's will is for us. We need to let His will be and accept it and rejoice in the changes that take place. He has a plan!!

Oh, if we could all take changes gracefully!!! I have been so guilty of not reacting to changes the way the Lord would have me to react. And I believe it was a reflection on the depth of my relationship with Him.

Good post!

I've never been really good at change either. My mom says I was that way as a child and it's carried over into my adult life.

A good reminder. (o:

mrs. b....it was hard for me as a child too. I can remember when we'd have to move and I'd have to change schools and leave friends to make new ones and I would be so nervous and scared. I'm still the same way now as an adult. The only thing is now that there is a lot more responsibility put on me in how I handle it now than when I was a child. I have children who are looking to me for encouragement and other things.

Dear Sis. Julie,
Great post! I so appreciate your candid honesty when relating your experiences in the Christian life. This post makes me wonder what changes will take place in the year ahead. Knowing that the Lord will never leave me or forsake me gives me courage to face the future.

I mailed your blog give-away gift yesterday. Let me know when you get it, okay?

My family is going though a change right now. But one thing I know, that even if I don't see how things are going to work out. I know God is still in control. And I have never stopped trusting Him.
