When Jesus Says "I Will"....

Mark 1:41 "And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean."

In this verse Jesus said "I will" and healed the leper. He promised this leper would be clean of leprosy. In verse 42 we see he was healed immediately. This is not always the case in our lives when God answers our prayers.

Matthew 4:19 "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers men." Here He made a promise to His disciples. There was a condition put on this promise being fulfilled. First they had to follow Him. In John 6:37 "All that the Father giveth me shall come to m e; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" He promises that those who come to Him...He will "in no wise cast out."

Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Here He promises rest for those who are burdened down. If we will go to Him with those burdens He will lighten that load by taking our burdens upon Himself. The problem is we don't believe He is answering our prayer for that burden because we truly haven't given it to Him. We must give it ALL to Him for Him to carry that burden completely.

John 14:13 "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." He promises to answer our prayers. John 14:14 "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."

John 14:3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
He promises to come again. Do you believe this promise is true? Do you really believe He is coming again?

Jesus says "I will" many times in Scripture. When Jesus says "I will"....you can count on whatever He says He will do. These things He promises to do may not come to pass immediately like it did for the leper that got healed...but you can rest assured it will happen. How many of us have things we've been praying for that we've been praying for years about? Have you given up on believing God's promise that He will answer it because it has been longer than you thought it should take? He does not tell us when He will answer...only that He will.

He promises He will come again and receive us unto Himself. Do you believe that? It hasn't happened yet but we know He will. Why is it we can believe God for His return yet we find it hard to believe His promise concerning that thing we're praying for?

We need to believe God and know that "I will" means "I will". So don't give up praying....and don't give up believing God and trusting in His promise. Afterall...He says "I will" . God does not and cannot lie!!

Thank you, Sis Julie, this is a very encouraging post. Sometimes we just pass over words in Scripture without really grasping the truth of them and then believing them for ourselves.

Sis Julie,

This is such a excellent post! We have that human nature that wants to just give up after a while and when it comes to praying, that is just the wrong answer.

Echoing Bro Tim's reply to your post. What an awesome reminder!
