The Verse Of The Day....I Needed This One!!

I noticed the verse below in my Verse of the Day box. This is something that I need to remember. Although God took a lot of my anger from me when I got saved...I still battle it on a daily basis. God allows some things to stay with us after we get saved to keep us humble and seeking Him daily for help with that thing. This verse is a powerful verse to me. Do you have a verse that is like that for you? If so...would you mind sharing it in a comment with me?

Proverbs 16:32 "He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city."

I love how God's Word can grip us.
I enjoy having that little box on my sidebar, too, and read it everyday.
That is a wonderful verse.
I, also, like (regarding anger)
James 1:19,20 ~
"Wherefore, my beloved brethren,
let every man be swift to hear,
slow to speak, slow to wrath:
For the wrath of man worketh not
the righteousness of God."

This one is a wonderful reminder to me, too.

Have a blessed Lord's Day.

That's a good verse...I need that one daily too. I have so many verses that help me daily; in all different situations. Proverbs 17:28 is one that I like a lot: "Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding."
So many times I open my mouth, and instead of sounding wise (like I was trying to) I end up only sounding like a fool!
I hope this wasn't one of those times! ;)

I tried to answer your question on my blog --- tried being the operative word LOL.

I too can have a problem with anger that turns into bitterness. I tend to get angry when I'm hurt and hold on to those hurts. Truth is that I'm afraid of what I'd have left if I didn't hold on to the hurts. Pray for me about that if you think of it. I'm battling with it now --- which is why our pastor gave us the Basic Life Principles seminar to go through. It's been beneficial already.

Well I really like the entire book of Proverbs. I'm sure I could pick one verse if I had to but the whole book just speaks volumes to me!
