Earthly Possessions Do Not Matter

Matthew 19:24 "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."

The rich surround themselves with luxury and lots of material possessions. The less fortunate (as they are often referred to) struggle to survive each day.

Neither of these groups of people will escape the grave if they die. No matter their financial state here they will both spend eternity in the same place if they die without Christ. But a different destination can be the result if one is saved and the other isn't. The rich man could go to Heaven if he is saved and the poor man go to Hell. But the opposite can be so...the poor man would go to Heaven if he is saved and the rich man to Hell if he isn't. What we possess in this world does not matter. But what we possess in Christ does.

The amount spent on the funeral doesn't matter at all either. The rich could have an elaborate funeral with the most expensive casket and the fanciest of a grave marker and be in Hell. The poor man could have the most inexpensive of funerals and be buried in a pine box with no grave marker and be in Heaven. It only matters what or Who they possess in their heart.

So let me ask you...do you possess much here? Are you trusting what you have to get you to Heaven? The Bible says in Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" No matter what you possess here....you are not good enough to enter Heaven. We are all sinners at birth. Christ came to die for us so we could have the opportunity to go to Heaven. Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Do you see yourself a sinner? If you do and have never accepted Christ as your personal Saviour there is hope for you.

Simply acknowledge to Him that you are a sinner and that you believe what His Word says about the sacrifice He made for you. That He died for you and that you accept Him and what He has done and that He rose again and is alive today. Ask Him to save you and then if you believe He has done that for you thank Him for it.

Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

I John 5:13 "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

Julie I am praying that this post will be a blessing to someone that does not know the Lord and the glory of His salvation.

I feel I have a very rich life. Rich because the Lord has blessed me in so many ways - loving husband, wonderful children, great parents and my precious salvation! And I thank Him every single day for all He has given me! Wonderful post Julie!

Sis. Julie, I have been saved for 53 years but I am still amazed that Jesus loved me when I didn't love Him at all or even know Him. He loved me. I am so glad. He has made all the difference in my life. connie from Texas

sis. tiffany....you are so right...we are rich...but not with material possessions. I'm so thankful I wasn't rich when God found me or who knows...I may not have seen a need for Him in my life. So many are rich with money and worldly possessions and think they are okay in this life. But God has given me much since being saved!!

sis. connie...wow!! 53 years?! That is great. I don't get the opportunity to know many who have been saved for as long as you have. What a blessing you knew Him at such a young age.

Julie, what a blessing it is to read of Christ's sacrifice over and over again. I'm so thankful that He loved even me.

Mrs Julie thanks for sharing this post. I am so thankful God found me in the mire of religon. I thought I was alright because I was a good person at 17 years old but he came my way. We may not have much here on this earth but praise God we got much waiting for us as a child of God on the other side. I am a joint heir Jesus and he owns everything. Now that is enough to make you shout at 6:30 in the morning. have a great day.

Dear Julie,
I was very shocked to come to your blog and hear some of the music that you had playing! I felt as though I was in a store hearing rock music!
I realize that these songs might have a good message to them, but the way these people sing them is very worldly, don't you think? I hear a drumbeat in the background of more than one song and this type of beat only appeals to the flesh. Could you imagine if one who was saved out of a rock music culture came and visited your blog to hear this type of music playing? This cold very easily become a stumbling stone to that person and they could be very turned off. My opinion is that the only difference between some of the music that you have on your blog and the music that is introduced by the pop artists is that yours has a gospel message. What do you think about this? What about the standard of separation that we are to adhere to? Do you think that the drumbeats appeal to the flesh? How is this type of music glorifying God? What type of music should we listen to and what type should we stay away from? Just a few questions, maybe you would answer them in a post. Thanks for listening!

abigail....I'm so sorry you took offense to the music on my site. I personally see nothing wrong with it. For you to say that it sounds like rock music is taking it a bit far to me. I used to listen to rock music of all forms. I LOVED it in fact. And I don't have a problem with the music I have on my site....obviously.

I listen to southern gospel music quite often. And some of it is way off track. And when it is I turn it off or change the song. But I was able to choose the songs that I have on here so that is why I even put it on here. Everyone else has loved it. I'm sorry you don't. Yes there are drums in some of the music...but it is not like rock music. For you to say so is in error in my opinion.

I hope you will continue to come by (just turn the volume down when you do). But if you can't do that then I understand. I have had very good response to the music and it has blessed many. Some even leave my page up while they visit others blogs. For that reason I will not change things concerning my music. Thank you for your comment and for sharing your opinion.

Mrs Julie I am with you on your music on this site. I know you and I know what kind of music you do not allow. I appreciate the songs that you have on here. Thanks for keeping the music on.

bro. tim....thank you for your encouraging comment. I don't see anything wrong with the music either. This person who complained has never (to my knowledge) left a comment before so I will dismiss it. I've gotten positive comments from everyone else so I will not let one person get me to stop it. Like I said...there is a volume control for those who don't like it. Thanks again!!
