Are You Going?.....Are You Weeping?

Psalm 126:6 "He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him."

Have you ever heard someone or even said yourself any of these things...

*That's not my calling.
*I don't feel led...
*I don't really have a burden for that.

I know I've heard and even said them myself. It is true that not everyone has the same burdens. It's also true that many don't have the burden because they don't see the need. Lamentations 3:51 says "Mine eye affecteth mine heart..." We all need a burden in this area of "going forth" and "bearing precious seed."

In the key verse for today we read "He that goeth forth and weepeth." Weeping doesn't come until we go forth. In going forth and sharing the gospel with others we receive a burden for those we talk with. Seeing the need and coming face to face with that someone in need creates a burden for them.

We need to get our hearts broken. When we become broken God can use us more effectively. So many are waiting for God to give them a burden so they can serve Him. That is backwards!! The burden will come AFTER we go.

When Jesus "saw the multitudes" (Matthew 9:36) He was "moved with compassion on them." We have got to get out of our comfort zone and get to serving God bearing the precious seed of the Word of God. We need to get going so that we can see people how God sees them and once we do then we can be moved to weeping and we'll be able to see God use us to help others and reach them for His sake. It's not until we look at people and see as God does that we can and will be broken. Once we're broken we'll be moved to go and then get a burden.

Are you going? Are you weeping? If not then you've not been broken. May God help us all to go and get a burden and bring us to the place of weeping over sinners and their sin.

Oh, Julie, what a great post. Getting out of our comfort zones to see the needs of others ~ Mm ~ I'm sure there are times I've missed the mark. Thank you for reminding us to be more deliberate in stepping out.

My comfort zone is a biggy for me. This is what I needed this morning. I have heard many a good sermons on this topic, but I still struggle with it. I do believe we Christians are given many opportunities to witness and we let them pass by. I feel so convicted afterward, when I think how I could have incorporated a testimony or question in a conversation but didn't do it.

sis. pam....I think we can all say we are guilty of that as well. But the first step to changing that is to realize our guilt in that area. May we all let God work in our hearts in this area and let Him begin using us to bear that precious seed.

Great post. Sis. Julie. I love that feeling that God gives you when you are able to lead someone to the Lord and Saviour, Jesus christ. There is no feeling that can compare. I wish I was able to hear the singing in heaven when a sinner is saved. I know it is wonderfully sweet. connie from Texas

Broken and spilled out just for love of you, Jesus. This is my heart's desire. That is why it is important to utilize every opportunity God grants us. Souls are hungry, not for religion, but for deliverance from the bondage of sin. Good thoughts, Sis Julie.

Without seeds there will be no sheaves. You are so right to challenge us to be burdened and weep, and reach out to the world.
