You Will Never Forget

Psalm 119:93 "I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me."

A child of God will never forget the day that God saved them from their sinful condition. But something else that they will never forget is God's Word. When a person gets saved they are quickened in their spirit. That means they are made alive. Before getting saved a person is dead spiritually. But once they see themselves a sinner on their way to hell and in need of a Saviour and ask the Lord Jesus to come into their heart and life they are made alive or quickened.

A saved person will never forget God's Word because they have the Holy Spirit indwelling them and He won't let them forget God's Word. A dead person cannot feel so it doesn't bother them like it does a saved person. When a saved person gets out of God's will the Holy Spirit will constantly be trying to bring them back to Him. And He uses God's Word to do that. The saved person may have their sense of drawing dulled somewhat by sin in their life but they will never be past the point of being dealt with until God takes them out of this world to be with Him. I believe many saved people cross that line where God sees no recourse other than to take them home with Him. But it is not without God having dealt with them about their sin constantly. That is why a person who is out of the will of God is never happy. The Holy Spirit is always nudging that heart to get right with Him.

So I believe that a saved person will never forget God's Word and what they have read or heard preached. The Holy Spirit won't let them forget. Thank God for the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that He uses to draw us back to Him.

I'll never forget where I was when I truly accepted Christ as my Savior! I was driving down the highway about 9 pm one evening, when the Holy Sprit and I had a battle. I finally gave in! Praise God!

I don't believe a saved person will forget, but I do believe that the Holy Spirit will allow you to see something in the scriptures you've never seen before, even though you've read that passage many times before. I think those are amazing times.

I do agree with that totally. I also agree with Kristi about onpening our eyes to things we have never seen before. It is so amazing to read a passage that you may have read a hundred times and then all of the sudden you realize something about it that you had never noticed before. It is indeed amazing when that happens!

sis. kristi....you are so right about the Holy Spirit revealing things to us that we've never seen before in His Word. That is why the Word of God can never be exhausted. Reading His Word is never dull or boring because it is living and the Holy Spirit will reveal things to us afresh and anew.

sis. cindy...it is truly amazing when the Word of God opens up to us with new revelations each time we read it...no matter how many times we've read either a portion of Scripture or the entire Bible.

It's funny that you posted this as just last night at church Pastor was speaking about how a saved person will never forget the day they were saved and the need for christians to repent of sin in their lives and draw closer to the Lord. Great post.

The Word of God is precious to me. I always feel joyful when I read it. God is so earnest and loving about His thoughts to us.

BTW, my husband will not eat any kind of pizza except Hawaiian. It has to be pineapple and Canadian bacon. So glad you like it too! (I prefer green peppers and olives.)

Hugs!

e-mom....you are so right...God is certainly earnest and loving about His thoughts to us. It also sounds like your husband has good taste (I like green peppers...but not olives...yuck!!)
