Who Are You Letting Order You?

Psalm 119:133 "Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me."

Psalm 119 is probably my favorite chapter in the whole Word of God. The entire chapter is about God's Word and how important it should be to us and how much emphasis we should put on His Word. I love God's Word. Have I gotten away from His Word at one time or another and not read like I needed to? Of course....haven't we all? But my desire is to stay in His Word and learn from it that I might not stray from Him and fall back into the same lifestyle I once had. God's Word is precious and has so much to teach us about our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and the role each One plays in our lives. My kids think I'm silly when I kiss my Bible. I love to kiss it. We kiss those that are special and precious to us don't we? For example...we kiss our spouse and our children. I feel God's Word should be more precious than anything. So I kiss it!!

There is a saying or a phrase in a song the refers to the Word of God and says "Sin kept me from it, now it keeps me from sin." That is so true. A person who is out of the Word and not reading like they should will find themselves weak and straying from the Lord and taking part in things that they shouldn't or listening to things that they shouldn't. We become less sensitive to things when we aren't in the Word of God. Dusty Bibles lead to dirty lives!!

Is God's Word precious to you? Are you letting God order you through it? You are bought with a price...the precious Blood of Christ...God has every right to order you...and He does that through His Word!!

I've found this to be so true Julie! I love the quotes you used here about the dust and dirt, etc. I'm sure you have also heard this one: "Sin will keep you from this book (Bible) or this book will keep you from sin."

Hope you are getting over that nasty cough! I saw where you were on at Mrs. B's at 2 something this morning! Be careful or you are going to become a PAM!

I love you Words of the Lord. They are my life line. I have read the scriptures since I was a very young girl. They filled my life with peace. I would lay out under the fig tree and read. It was one of my most favorite places when I was a child. I go back there sometimes in my mind and it still bring me such joy. connie from Texas GREAT POST

pam....thank Sis!! I am not getting over this cough!! It has had me up during the night as you can see the past couple of nights. I'm afraid I'm into it again tonight. We just got home from a preacher's meeting and I'm already starting in with it. I'm going to take my NyQuil and go to bed.

connie...thanks for your comment. It's always nice to have memories we can go back to and remember. Unfortunately I don't have any spiritual ones from my childhood...but I'm hoping that my kids will have some of their own to remember when they get older. Love you Sis!!

MRs Julie good post. It is obvious when someone is struggling as a Christian and you talk to them it is always because they are out of the Word of God. Christians today in this country take the Word of God for granted there are places in the world that will only have a page or a book and be persecuted because they have it. We have the whole Word and multiple copies and many don't count the preciousness of the Word. I love my Bible. Amen!
