Serve Him In Truth

I Samuel 12:24 "Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you."

This verse has been on my heart the past couple of days. I was asking myself "Do I REALLY fear (have reverence for) the Lord?" If I do then I'll live for Him. "Do I serve Him in truth?" If I do then what I do to serve Him won't contradict His Word. "Do I serve Him with all my heart?" If I do then I will do ALL things as unto Him. The verse says "consider how great things he hath done for you." If we really consider (to take into account) what He has done for us it should motivate us to love Him with all our heart and to serve Him in truth as not to bring shame and reproach on His name.

Friend...if all He ever did for you was die for you so that you could have eternal life then that should be enough. But think about and meditate on all the other things (countless things) that He has done for you. He did so much to protect us till we got saved and then has blessed our lives abundantly since being saved.

If this post does nothing more than to get you to remember what all Christ as done for you then this post has accomplished what it was intended to do. But let it really sink into your heart and mind and let it motivate you to love Him more and to serve Him with the right motive and attitude.

Mrs Julie another good post. I am so thankful for what the Lord has done in my life. I want to serve him in truth that is for sure. I do know by testimony sake that this Christian life is alot better when you are motivated out of love for Christ, than doing it out of obligation.

bro. tim....you are so right. The thing I never thought about was that if we serve Him in truth that we will never contradict His Word in our service. The same goes for our worship. If we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth we will never contradict His Word in our worship.

Amen, if my Lord and Saviour "...came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many"( Mark 10:45b), then surely I can offer my whole life to Jesus! He not only gave His life for me, but He ministers to me every day.

Blessings.

This is a great reminder. Thank you. I love those verses that tell us to consider something - perhaps we are overlooking what is important, or what might make a change in our lives. Consider what the Lord has done for us - if we did that more often, I think we would stray less! God bless.

bro. jerry....I agree with you in that if we considered more often what Christ did for us and is doing for us that it would keep us from straying. Thank you for your comment.
