Home-Goings

II Corinthians 5:8 "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two wonderful people went home to be with the Lord today. The first was Dr. Lee Roberson. He passed away this morning. He was a tremendous Man of God. I've had the privilege to hear him preach many times in my Christian life. He was full of wisdom and power when he preached. He was in his mid 90's. This man has no doubt made an impact on so many lives. Please pray for his church and his family.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The second person was my husband's grandmother. This was the mother of his dad that died in Vietnam. She passed in her sleep. Her health had been failing in the past few years. She knew the Lord. My husband and my daughters will be traveling to Jefferson, Ohio for the service that will be held either Wednesday or Thursday. I'd appreciate it if you would pray for them as they travel. This will be difficult on my daughters especially. They had been writing letters back and forth with their great-grandma for the past couple of years. We were hoping to make a trip to see her in the next few months. Evidently the Lord had other plans than for us to get to visit with her one more time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I pray y'all had wonderful Lord's Day services. We sure did. We began our revival meeting with Bro. Darrell Hayes this afternoon. Please pray for our church as we go through this week. My husband will not get to be here for the most of it. But God knew that too didn't He? Have a great week and I'll try to post through the week if I can.
I'm sorry to hear about your husband's grandmother. I'll be sure to pray for traveling mercies and much grace during this time.
As for Brother Roberson, he will be greatly missed. Today he experienced everything he has preached about for so many years. Praise the Lord!
So sorry to hear about your husband's grandmother passing. I will be praying for your family, and your church as you go into revival with your husband absent. How wonderful to know that even though you missed that last visit on earth, you will have all of eternity together. ((Julie))
Julie, I am so sorry for your loss. I will be praying as your family travels to Ohio. How wonderful that your children got to know their great-grandmother though and the memories will be such a blessing for them.
Praying for your revival too this week.
Love and Hugs, Lyndy
Sorry for your loss. The death of Dr Lee, though not surprising given his age, is going to leave a big vacancy in our circle!
Thank you so much everyone for your sweet thoughts and prayers for our family. My husband and his mom and our girls will be leaving for Ohio on Tuesday morning at 5:30am. The funeral is Thursday at 12:30. My husband will be officiating the service. Please pray for him that God would use him mightily to get the gospel out to his family members. There are many that are lost and I know Grandma would be so thrilled to know that someone got saved as a result of her passing. I love you and thank you all so very much!!!
Can you imagine the shouting in Heaven now? Dr. Roberson was a Hero of the Faith to my dad and likewise to me.
I'll be praying for you as you travel, and for your husband as he officiates the service of his Grandmother. Stay safe!
Sister Julie,
I'm sorry for your loss I know what it's like to lose a grandmother and a mother even. my grandmother has been gone for 31 years and my mom for 17 years. I'm sure mom and grandmother are standing there at the gate to welcome Bro. Ron's grandmother and Dr Roberson home.
I will Be praying for your family and as they travel tomorrow morning we love ya'll.
Sis. Julie,
I'm praying for your family this week, and for your church family during the special services. Although we don't understand the Lord's timing in these situations, we know he has a plan. :-)
Can you imagine how excited Dr. Roberson was when he saw his dear wife again? It gives me glory bumps just thinking about it! My husband is planning on attending the funeral on Thursday to show his respect for such a godly man.
