Are You Right With God?
James 4:14 "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is you life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."
Only God knows if a person's heart is right with God. Our lives can be required of us at any time. It is very important to make sure every moment of every day that out hearts are right with God. We never know when He will take us out of this world.
Sometimes our lives are required of us due to sin in our lives that God cannot put up with anymore. It may not be anything vile or horrid either. It may just be a sin of disobedience that He has been telling you He wants you to do for so long and He knows you will not obey so He takes you out at that point. I do not want my life to be shortened due to the sin of disobedience. The sin of disobedience is just as big a sin as the sin of murder, adultery, sodomy or any other sin you can think of. In God's eyes...sin is sin!! People get this idea that there are big sins and little sins. That is simply not the truth.
I don't know if you are right with God. But you know!!! YOu know if God has been trying to get you to obey in an area and you continue to disobey.
I have been dealing with someone that just doesn't seem to see the importance in doing the right thing. This person says that they are doing what is right. And to some people it is right. But when you line it up with Scripture...it isn't. And I told them...how long do you think God will put up with it? They say they don't see what they are doing as sin in God's eyes....but I know it is just because God says it is. How sad!!! I told that person the other day they better be careful because God could require their life at any time if they keep going their own way. God wants to protect us from making bigger mistakes and from bringing shame to His name.
So my question to you is this...Is your heart right with God." Are you obeying in every way that He has told you to? Not the way you want to or you think you should but the way God has told you to. It may not be something that your flesh wants to do...but there is peace in obeying God in every aspect of your life. The blessings of God will fall on the one who is right with God.

Great Post, Sis. Julie. We need to all realize that our ways are not God's ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. It really doesn't matter if we see it wrong or not if it does not line up with God's Word then we are the ones who are wrong. connie from Texas
I have counseled and dealt with people who simply can't see that they need to measure everything up to the best ruler of all, God's Word! If it says no, then don't do it. If it says do something, simply do it! That may sound super simplisitic, but I do believe so many people actually make obedience more complicated that it really is! Do you agree with me on that?
Praise God we have a Saviour who covers and forgives us for every mistake we lay before Him.
Blessings.
Mrs Julie what a great post. THis is something that every Christian needs to examine their life for. Are we right with God. YOu make a good point it is not the gross moral things that we are involved in, it is the sin of disobedience. I am so glad for God's longsuffering and mercy for their our times that I know my disobedience has linger.

Its all about the heart. If you're right with God on the inside ,the outside will line up quickly and effectively. If not, there's absolutely nothing to be done!
Prayer works on a heart thats not right. Of course.

Some good points here. What I was thinking as I read this was:
1 Corinthians 11:31-32 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
In the context of discipline by the Lord, He says if we would judge our sin (and repent of it), then the Lord wouldn't chastize us. When we refuse to acknowledge our sin in God's sight, then we are headed for trouble!
P.S. I wanted to say thank you for all the comments you leave on my blog. They are very much appreciated. It is good to know how something the Lord laid on my heart affected someone else - and to know how they were blessed by it. Many times I don't leave a comment here, but I do read and appreciate all of your posts. God bless.
