Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and debts are high,
And you want to smile but have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit--
Rest if you must, but don't quit.
~~~~~~~
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns;
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won, had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.
~~~~~~~
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the winning crown.
~~~~~~~
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
You never can tell how close you are,
If may be near, when it seems afar.
So stock to the fight when you're hardest hit;
It's when things seem worse that you mustn't quit.
In case any of you are wondering...I got this poem in an email I received this morning. I thought it might encourage someone who may be thinking of giving up to keep going for the cause of Christ. I know things get tough now and then but God allows it to help us and not hurt us.
I'll be tied up with taking my youngest daughter to the dr for pain she has been having for a month now. They don't know what is wrong with her and are going to be doing some tests to determine the problem. I won't be home most of the day so posted something rather simple that I could copy and paste. I pray this post is/was a blessing to all of you.
I love you all!!
Sis. Julie,
This blog was such an encouragement to me. I am going through a trial spiritually, physically and emotionally. I put a song on my blog that goes along with yours. It is titled "I've Enlisted in His Service Til I Die". I was recently told that due to a decision I have made to follow the Lord as I believe he is leading me, I am backslidden. God encouraged me in his word in John that "no man can pluck me out of God's hand". As long as I am holding to him, he won't let go of me. I have a tumor that has taken my singing voice and is also causing me some depression. I am encouraging myself in the Lord and I also would appreciate prayer. Sorry this was so long. Have a good day and I will pray for your daughter.
Sis Julie,
I believe you might have misunderstood. I am NOT backslidden.I am being "accused" of being backslidden because of a decision I am making. I love the Lord with all of my heart and he is precious to me. I will not turn my back on him. God is leading me and I am following him.
Sis. Becky.....I am so very sorry I misunderstood you. Oh me....I'm so sorry. I guess I didn't read it right. I know what it is like to be accused of being backslidden. God knows our true state though...so I try not to let it bother me when others say such things. I'm sorry that is being said about you....all you can do is love those people and pray for them. You can't help what they believe about you or what they say but all you can do is pray for them and keep living as close to God as you can and try not to let their words get to you. Once again...I'm so sorry!!! Please forgive me.
Sis Julie,
You are forgiven. I just wanted to clear that up so that anyone who reads your blog and knows me will not think I have turned my back on God. I love and appreciate you. It is so good to meet and enjoy fellowship with other believers.
