Why We Should Go To Church

Hebrews 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

Acts 20:7 "And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight."

There are several reasons why we should go to church. And in reading these reasons let me just say that if you are a child of God there is a desire to go to church. I don't always FEEL like going to church but there is still a desire in my heart to go. Thank God for the Holy Spirit of God Who lives inside me compelling me and giving me the desire to be in the House of God.

---It encourages the heart of the Pastor.
---It helps to resist temptations in our lives.
---It prepares us to be a successful, victorious Christian throughout the week.
---It is the greatest day of the Christian's week (even going to mid-week service).
---You are making a statement that you want the church doors to stay open and strong.
---It is the Lord's Day and we are commanded to go.

These are a few of the reasons we should go to church. They are ones that come to mind as I was thinking on this topic. If you aren't faithful to your church, as a pastor's wife, I can tell you that it does hurt the heart of your pastor and more importantly the heart of God when you don't go. Be committed to the Lord and do as He commands in everything, including being at church every time the doors are open. God has something there for you and if you don't go then you will miss it!!!

Mrs Julie I actually remember this post from the blog. Again this is a good post and I am so glad that I am part of a church that I can be used of God.

Yes! When my husband and I first got married we were doing alot of "church shopping", and we would miss some weeks. Now we have found a church that we both love, and I look forward to going every week. I learned from experience that once you start missing church every so often, it becomes easier to get into the habit of skipping, and harder to get yourself to go. We made the decision to go, no matter what, as to not fall back into that bad habit.

sis. Julie,
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

Oh and I wanted to tell you that I have been reading you blog, but I haven't been able to comment for some reason. It kept saying that I didn't have an account, but it only happened on this site. Very strange. I'm glad it worked this time :)

Amen to this post! It hurts the pastor, it hurts the Lord, AND it hurts yourself, which turns around and hurts your family, and this can unfortunately go on and on and on.
